Just a little touch of star quality... August 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm all for a good pop song. This one, however, is just lacks luster. It has Maroon 5 written within it's very fiber. This song attempts to mimic what others have done before, and with nasal, male voices - I'm just not diggin' it.
Can't Wait For The CD!!!! August 2, 2008 This is currently the most played song on my iPod! The boys have really stepped up their game and improved greatly. The music and vocals are awesome! I recommend!
Luv Ya July 20, 2008 This song is great and the music video is HILARIOUS!! BUY IT!! BUY IT!! BUY IT!! And every band eventually seems like they sound like some other band, but it is still the Jonas Brothers's own sound...their song. AND I LOVE IT! Luv Ya Jonas Brothers.... ~Becky
This Song is Definitely "Burnin' Up" July 1, 2008 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
I love the Jonas Brothers' new sound. "Burnin' Up" is a great debut single for the brothers new album, A LITTLE BIT LONGER.
Who cares if it sounds like Maroon 5's "Make's Me Wonder," either you love the song, or not.
All this "burnin' up" "makes me wonder"... June 24, 2008 2 out of 10 found this review helpful
I am a fan of the Jonas Brothers, and while I do like this song, as I listened to it, I wondered...why does this sound so strangely familiar? I felt like I'd heard it before.
And then, it hit me.
Seems the Jo Bros have taken a few lessons out of the Maroon 5 school of rock. The young musicians newest song has a very Maroon-esque style to it, like the new beat and most noticeable of all is how the Jo Bros have taken to using a new vocal sound, getting higher at certain points that give a very obvious nod to the talented Adam Levine's trademark sound.
I do give the boys kudos for choosing such a great band to emulate, but I also must express my disappointment in how far they went. They sound almost too similar. Listen to both songs at these points ("Makes Me Wonder" at 0:46 -and- "Burnin' Up" at 0:26), which are the choruses of both songs, and you'll see what I mean.
Tip of the hat or copycat? You decide.
