Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Atlantic was the brainchild of beloved writers Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow among others, with Oliver Wendell Holmes serving as the magazine's editor when it was first published in 1857. Steeped in literary history, the periodical's current focus is topics relating to national and international politics; however The Atlantic continues to publish fiction in an annual special issue.

The Kindle Edition of The Atlantic contains most articles found in the print edition, but will not include all images. For your convenience, issues are auto-delivered wirelessly to your Kindle at the same time the print edition hits the newsstand.

5 out of 5 stars The Atlantic . . .   March 17, 2008

is in a class all by itself. I especially
look forward to the articles written by
James Fallows. I have always found his
in-depth reports to be thoughtful and
unbiased.

Yep I miss the color pictures but it's still the Atlantic and with the Kindle version I tend to read every article.

3 out of 5 stars All The Text, None Of The Illustrations   December 23, 2007

I love The Atlantic, so I was ecstatic when I saw it on the Kindle list.

Overall, I'm disappointed. All the text is there, but no illustrations, graphics, or charts. One of my favorite sections is Primary Sources, filled with interesting charts and maps. For some reason, NONE of these make it to the Kindle. Nothing but text. I guess it sounds immature to say, "where are all the pictures!?" But I certainly miss them, and the content is not the same without them.

But again, it is nice to have some form of The Atlantic available. I hope the illustrations are eventually included.
