excellent service July 22, 2008 I received my item on time and in the condition discribed, would definately order again
Funny from start to finish! June 29, 2008 I saw this special on Showtime and it was so funny I couldn't wait for it to come out on DVD so I could watch it and show it to my friends anytime I wanted. Everyone who has seen this loves it, George uses every inch of the stage and every prop on it to make you laugh! You will not be sorry you bought this DVD, you will enjoy it over and over again!
Folks....it's not funny!! Seriously, may be hard to believe, but not funny. June 1, 2008 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
Since I have always followed the career of George Lopez, I read the book about his life "Why You Crying". The premise of the 2005 DVD stand-up here is that it is based on the book. But I have to say, I love good comedy, good stand-up comedy. And this was just not that good!! Really...just not that funny. There were a few moments, but nothing memorable that caused great laughter.
The entire show is based on his home life, wacko grandparents, sad dysfunctional life. He performs in the same Long Beach California auditorium that Richard Pryor did in the early 80's.
An interview about the material he chose is included in the DVD. George would love to see the day when he can look at the Mexican community in a more positive light, but he has not and therefore his community is shown in a negative light. Sorry folks, but get real, it is not that funny. If you want to see a funnier man, try Paul Rodriguez and for something with side-splitting laughter see Richard Pryor - Live in Concert or Robin Williams - Live on Broadway. You will see the difference.....Rizzo
George is amazing April 12, 2008 Whether you are of Hispanic descent or not, he is one funny comedian. There are a few words used that are from the Spanish language, so if you have a Hispanic friend bring them over to watch. Overall, very hilarious. I was in tears the first time I watched it.
Viva George Lopez!! January 26, 2008 I loved this DVD!! I can relate to alot of what he is talking about. I can watch this over and over again and still laugh!
