3 out of 5 stars Beware of sotware   September 3, 2008
The camera picture quality is what you can expect for the price. It works well with Skype. It's the software that's been giving me issues and I had to go through extensive trouble installing/reinstalling the CD that it came with.
If I had a second chance I probably wouldn't choose Logitech again.

4 out of 5 stars So far so good :)   August 22, 2008
I'm not expert on web cams but this one is easy to use and looks cool. I think the picture is pretty clear and the price is very reasonable. I bought two and am pleased with my purchase.

4 out of 5 stars Good camera   August 15, 2008

This is a good, serviceable camera with decent quality images -- much better than the Logitech QuickCam Chat, which I also purchased. I am returning the QuickCam Chat and keeping the Quickcam for Notebooks for my son.

3 out of 5 stars Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks great except for sound   August 13, 2008

I love everything about the Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks, except for the sound quality. It sounds really staticy. The size is great for laptop bags, the video quality is acceptable (manual focus though instead of automatic focus) Nice short cord. Fits well on laptop. But I returned it due to the sound quality not being optimal. Hard to talk to people over a webcam that emits static.

3 out of 5 stars Average webcam   August 5, 2008

The quality of this webcam isn't excellent or anything close to a digital camera image but it's not terrible or grainy. This also comes with a few fun video effects like old movie, blockhead (distorts your face), four squares (Andy Warhol-like effect), etc. It doesn't come with the effect where an image takes over your face and detects your mouth movements.

One thing I don't like is that the colors aren't very "true". The pictures have this whiteness to it. It doesn't really affect the quality but everything just appears a little whiter. You can adjust your settings but it doesn't change that. If color isn't a problem and you're looking for something basic, this should be fine. I personally didn't feel like it was worth the price. I'd rather pay a little more for something better, or pay less if I'll be getting something average either way. Before buying this, I'd been using a much older Logitech webcam so I thought this would be an upgrade. It was more like a downgrade, however. It seemed like something that came out five to ten years ago when it was only last year.
