Product Description
Food is our most intimate and telling connection both with the living natural order and with our living cultural heritage. By eating the plants and animals of our earth, we literally incorporate them. It is also through this act of eating that we partake of our culture’s values and paradigms at the most primal levels. It is becoming increasingly obvious, however, that the choices we make about our food are leading to environmental degradation, enormous human health problems, and unimaginable cruelty toward our fellow creatures.

Incorporating systems theory, teachings from mythology and religions, and the human sciences, The World Peace Diet presents the outlines of a more empowering understanding of our world, based on a comprehension of the far-reaching implications of our food choices and the worldview those choices reflect and mandate. The author offers a set of universal principles for all people of conscience, from any religious tradition, that they can follow to reconnect with what we are eating, what was required to get it on our plate, and what happens after it leaves our plates.

The World Peace Diet suggests how we as a species might move our consciousness forward so that we can be more free, more intelligent, more loving, and happier in the choices we make.

5 out of 5 stars A new level of spirituality , and hope for a better world.   July 20, 2010
Helen Gaynor
This is the message that turned me vegan ---instantly. A complete awakening to the connection between food and animals. The disconnect is over.

I am healthier and happier than ever before.
A new level of spirituality , and hope for a better world.

5 out of 5 stars The most important book written in this decade.   July 13, 2010
Ray George (Sonoma, CA)
Dr. Will Tuttle should be congratulated for taking the massive time and energy to research and write this book; a book that can literally change the way the human race interacts with one another, if they read it and apply it's principals. Far more than just a diet, The World Peace Diet holds THE key to understanding how, as a civilization, we tick, and how we can go from a constantly warring society to one of peace and prosperity. Although the numbers are staggering, the details grizzly, and the overall picture somewhat bleak, Dr. Tuttle gives many examples of hope and possibility, and ways in which we may actually make this grandiose ideal a reality.

Simply put, shifting our heavily protein-fixated diet to a vegan diet, which means that we can eat all the food that grows; all plant derived food, such as fruits, vegetables, grains, beans, and nuts and seeds, will shift our consciousness from that of a conqueror mentality to one of a nurturer mentality. Eating the flesh and secretions of once living animals, and processing them in the way that we do (factory farms, slaughterhouses, inhumanely treated conditions, etc.) will bring about a massive shift in the worlds' consciousness.

If you think you are a peaceful person, but still eat meat, or even eat cheese and eggs, you need to read this book and become aware of where your food is actually coming from, and the conditions in which the animals that are raised to provide such food are living in. You will be horrified, sickened, and hopefully, enlightened as to the circumstances that we conveniently ignore to have our burgers, milkshakes and omelets. For how can you claim to be peaceful if your diet supports the most repulsive and ugly practices on the planet? In chapter after chapter, Will makes the point that we can't be, and I agree with him.

There is a great movement going on in this country, the U.S., as well as the world, and for the most part it is being ignored, or ridiculed, perhaps even by you, the reader. But it is nevertheless a movement that is gaining momentum, and must happen if we, as a species, are to survive. Yes, I know, those are extreme words, but they are Dr. Tuttle's words, as well as mine. This book is a rallying cry to wake up, to take a serious look at a serious problem, so serious that it is woven into the fabric of our society and is barely questioned, but must be questioned, examined, and eventually changed. Every argument is addressed in this book, and a solution offered for every concern.

I have met Will on several occasions and he is a man of great vision and humility. I want to see him on Oprah and Dr. Oz, to be given the chance and opportunity to reach millions of people to spread the word of compassion and hope. I recommend this book with all of my heart, and hope you read it and take it's message to heart yourself.

5 out of 5 stars Must Read!   May 9, 2010

This book completely changed my perspective of life and the world around me. I think everyone in the world should read it. It does get repetitive at times, he has good points and he states them over and over (sometimes rather harshly). Nonetheless, it changed the way I eat, cook, and think. I am recommending it to all my friends.

5 out of 5 stars World Peace Diet   May 7, 2010

Everyone on the planet must read this book and adopt 100% plant based (Vegan) diet without wasting any more time. Killing and torturing helpless animals must stop for the sake of everyone, especially for the sake of ourselves; we are already paying a big price (karma) for the horrible treatment we apply to the helpless (Animal, human and environment). So this book was written by a really good person, an enlightened human being, so please act before it is too late.
